Setting up your organisation
The four setup questions: who you are, what identifies an entry, taking money, and how long you keep entrants' details.
The first time you sign in you are offered a short setup: four questions, about a minute. They set the defaults that are awkward to discover later. It is optional, and you can come back to it any time from Organisation setup at the foot of every admin page.
- Who you are: Your public name, shown on event pages and in the emails entrants receive. Whether you are a club, a governing body or association, or a class association, and your sport.
- What your entries look like: Whether your entrants have a number - a sail number, a bow number, a race bib, or nothing at all - and what you call it. Whether you run squads or training programmes as well as racing.
- Taking money: Whether you will charge for anything, and connecting Stripe if you will. See Connecting Stripe.
- Looking after entrants' details: How many days after an event finishes its entrants' personal details are deleted. The default is 90. Your governing body may set this: the RYA's own policy is three years (1095 days).
What kind of organisation you are changes what you see. A class association gets Pages, a website of its own. Clubs and class associations get Memberships. Everyone gets events, forms and link pages.
None of these answers is final. Each event can still be set its own way in its Settings.
