Setting up stations

Open a phone straight into one job with a link or QR code, give each station its own password, and test it all beforehand.

Stations, under On the day, has a card for each station with its own link. Show QR gives a code to scan with a phone; Copy link is for sending to a laptop or tablet. Nobody needs a WeMuster account to open one.

Passwords

Give every station a password of its own, so a volunteer can only unlock the screen they are meant to use. Until you do, anyone with the link can open it, and a link sent to a group chat gets forwarded. A station without one says so in amber.

Lost a phone, or a link went somewhere it should not? Refresh link gives that station a new one and signs out any device using the old one. The password is kept.

Which device for which station

• Registration Desk: Anything. Easiest on a laptop.
• Tagging: An Android phone or tablet, or a USB reader on a laptop.
• Tallying: An Android phone or tablet, or a USB reader on a laptop.
• Beach Master: Any phone, tablet or laptop.
• Safety Lead: Any phone, tablet or laptop. Keep it turned away from the public.

A few days before

• Open every station on the device that will run it.
• Tap a band on every phone and laptop you plan to tally with.
• Check the sound is on and loud enough to hear outside.
• Charge everything, and bring a power bank and a spare phone.
