What is public on an event page, shortening names on the entry list, and keeping the noticeboard to entrants only.
A published event's page has tabs: Register, Entries, Noticeboard, and Forms and Links when there are any. By default anyone with the link can read all of them.
The entry list shows who has entered: their name, sail number and class. Nothing else about them is ever public.
Under Public entry list in Settings, untick Show entrants' full names publicly to show “J. Ryan” rather than “Juliet Ryan”. Do this for any youth or junior event: it is still enough for a competitor to find their own entry, without a child's full name next to a boat, a venue and a date.
Under Who sees the event pages, tick Entrants only and the noticeboard, entry list and forms can only be opened by people who have entered. The Register tab stays public, so people can still find the event and enter.
Entrants are let in the moment they enter, paid or not. Their confirmation email carries a link for reading the pages on another device.
